3 Day Mountain Bike Stage Event Muskoka to Haliburton September 19-21, 2008  Chico Racing event promotions is excited to present Ontario's first point topoint mountain bike stage race, Crank the Shield. As Ontario's ultimate test of physical and mental endurance, Crank the Shield will attract all calibers of riders. From the elite level racer, to a weekend warrior in search of a personal triumph, the 3 stages ranging from 80 to 95 kms are sure to put riders to the test. Crank the Shield will see up to 350 riders make their way through the Haliburton Highlands, with overnight stops at summer camps featuring excellent dining, entertainment and cabin accommodations. The 3 courses wind through rough ATV trails, secondary roadways, and cycling specific riding centers including Buckwallow and Haliburton Forest Wildlife Preserve. This epic adventure is capped off by a BBQ and award ceremony, a great end to the ultimate mountain bike experience.
